Today I am a doctor.
I make boo-boos go away.
I help people feel better
So they can go outside to play.
A mess of bandages
Has Mommy looking like a mummy.
I know all the special foods and teas
To ease an achy tummy.
I kiss it better
When Daddy is sad from his sore ouchy.
I listen to his heart
And give him a cure to be less grouchy.
For everyone who comes by,
I look inside ears and noses and mouths.
If I see something that doesn’t belong,
It’s my job to pull it out.
I wash my hands and look really hard
And listen with a stethoscope.
But nothing quite says “Doctor”
Like my warm and bright white coat.
To some I am a hero.
Because I can wake up Sleeping Beauty.
I’m not here to be a hero.
I’m just here to do my duty.
Today I am a doctor.
I’ll fix your bruise and blues and flu.
What will I be tomorrow?
I can hardly wait to choose.
